Stampin' Up! Peaceful Cabin Bendy Card

I showcased the Peaceful Cabin suite for my Facebook live on 15 October 2021 and it was the first time I tried making a Bendy/Bendi card, it was a fancy fold I've been wanting to try and had it on my TO DO list, and finally I did.  This bundle was perfect for this fancy fold, I must admit I had a few goes at it,  and relieved that I was able to pull it off during my live,  I quite like how it turned out.

The designer series paper was perfect for the background, I used Smoky Slate ink and my blending brushes to highlight the already printed mountains on the DSP and made them more prominent. The DSP in this suite will grow on you, when I first saw it, I felt there was so much grey but as I kept using it and seeing what other demonstrators were doing with it, I was glad I bought the whole suite.

Instructions for the card:

  1.  I cut a card base from Basic White thick cardstock measuring 6x6 to fit the image of the DSP that measures 6x6, you get four images to a sheet. DO NOT adhere the DSP to the card base yet.
  2. Two pieces of Basic White thick cardstock for the flaps, (to create the bend, hence the name for the fancy fold BENDY/BENDI card) one piece measuring 4x6 and the other measuring 2 3/4x6 score with the long side to the top at 1/2 on one end and 1/4 on the other to create the tab.
  3. On the large piece stamp the Christmas tree image towards the top and die cut it and keep aside.
  4. On the smaller piece stamp and die cut the cabin and keep aside.
  5. Die cut the cabin in Real Red and cut off the bottom of the cabin right up to the snow line,(head over to my Facebook Page FiOrissa Creations to see the video or click HERE)
  6. You need another scrap piece of Basic White that is big enough to fit the cabin, and apply the adhesive sheet to the back, then die cut the cabin, leave all the little bits in there, cut the roof off the cabin and adhere it to the Real Red cabin to give it a snowy effect, remove the little piece shown in the picture below and adhere to the outside on the Real Red cabin as shown in the picture above so it looks like snow dripping from the roof.
I also added the other little bits just for some added texture, it's not noticeable in the picture above.
  7. Take the flap with the trees on the 1/4 end cut a tab and do the same with the flap that has the cabin.
  8. Take the flap with the trees line up the 1/2 fold line to the side of the card base and making sure the edge is lined up to the bottom as well, adhere it to the front of the card base on the left, do the same with the flap that has the cabin and adhere to the right of the card base.
  9. Now adhere the DSP to the card base.
  10. Take a bone folder gently curve both flaps so that it BENDS in hence the term BENDY CARD.
  11. Measure 2 inches in from the right,  make pencil marks to cut a slit big enough to fit the tab created for the flap.
  12. Do the same thing but this time make the slit on the flap.
  13. I stamped extra Christmas trees and cut the smaller tree at the end and adhered them separately two on the right side of the cabin and the smaller tree near the tab and there you have it a BENDY CARD.
