Blogging Friends November Blog Hop, Anything but a Card

Hi My Crafty Friends, here I am yet again with my Blogging friends, we come to you every month wit a project, hopefully to give you some inspiration and to show you are Stampin'Up! products. This month as the title suggests the project has to be Anything but a card, so many ideas were going through my mind, I was tossing up on doing a Mini Album, Treat boxes, Christmas Decorations, so on and so forth, I then realised I had not used my Stitched Triangles Dies and thought I would make a treat box, I came across many triangle shaped Treat boxes and this is what I came up with. This can be used as a Treat box or a Tea Light holder

I was happy how they turned out , I may have cut down a few trees trying to get the measurements right, I had about 4 goes, till I got it right. Below is a picture and  details of how I put it together.

Cardstock used for this project is Real Red and Toile Tidings DSP.

You will need two pieces of Real Red cardstock piece A measuring 7 3/4" x 3 1/8 " and  piece B 4 3/4 " x 3 1/8"

  1. Take the piece A, with the long side to the top score at 1/2" flip and then score at 4 3/4" and 7 5/16".
  2. Place piece B  with the short side to the top and score at 1/4" at both sides.
  3. Notch both pieces as shown in the picture.
  4. Corner round the two pieces using the Detailed Trio Punch as shown in the picture above.
  5. Die cut three triangles, two from Real Red cardstock and 1 from window sheet(Acetate) using the Stitched Triangles Dies.
  6. Take one of the triangles and die cut a window using the third triangle down, and then adhere the window sheet to the back of the die cut triangle.
  7. Adhere each triangle to each of the flaps as shown in the picture below.(The tabs on the bottom picture are not cut out, that was the trial piece so remove tabs like the picture above.)
  8. Punch a hole through both the tabs at the top and tie a ribbon round the whole box making sure you put the ribbon through the hole and finish off with a bow .
